G-Speak, the ‘minority report’ interface comes to life, and jaws fall off…

Managing data is all about our ability to interact with it.  New interfaces, from Google’s Earth or minority report’s ‘magic’ gloves illustrate how critical interactivity is; it’s the ‘force multiplier’ of data.  Today, G-Speak shows the next step in data viz/interfacing.  Watch the video, let your jaw fall down, and contemplate a few applications:

Air Traffic Control – duh.  every time I read about this industry, I keep hearing how they’re saddled with 20th century displays & control systems.

Medical pre-op visualization (think about it – we’ve got the ability to get the data with ct, mri etc; but we still don’t have great viz apps for these, and certainly few that can be used effectively in a teaching hospital)

Product design & training – especially for mission critical simulation (think training fire fighters or nuclear power techs)

Gaming:  rebuild our economy by putting a system that can combine the best parts of the wii (motion) and a portable / installable screen system – in every household in the world, then play doom on it.  Oh, and such a home application could also be great for distance learning (learn to change a carburator on a russian tractor right in your own home, or something useful).

SCULPTING!!!  Yeah, I know, 3d modeling & sculpting would be secondary, entertainment / art based applications, but shit… plug this into mudbox/Zbush and I would never leave.  you’d have to rip my hands off to get me to stop.

Oh, and for anyone who wants to make a zillion dollars: TELE-PORN…. It’s a huge tech leader… just saying.
